HERETIC Pope Benedict XVI and Dominus Iesus

Many in our day, since Vatican Council II, have a dangerously wrong view of the beliefs in Roman Catholicism.

These misconceptions, in part, have been expelled by Pope Benedict XVI himself. In an article dated July 10, 2007 and found on MSNBC.com entitled, Pope: 'Jesus formed -- only one church,' the head of the Roman Catholic Church system:

Reasserted the universal primacy of the Roman Catholic Church, which says that Orthodox churches were defective and that other Christian denominations were not true churches.

He was, according to the article, correcting erroneous interpretations of the Second Vatican Council. He also revived the old Latin Mass. This newly approved document restates key sections of a 2000 document entitled, "Dominus Iesus," which states that Protestant denominations were not true churches but merely ecclesial communities and therefore did not have the "means of salvation."

The news article said this new document states:

"Christ ‘established here on earth' only one church," the document said. The other communities "cannot be called ‘churches' in the proper sense" because they do not have apostolic succession -- the ability to trace their bishops back to Christ's original apostles.

Dominus Iesus Explained

Though the Latin words Dominus Iesus means the Lord Jesus the decree by Pope Benedict XVI under that title is not the teaching of the Lord Jesus nor does it point us to faith in Jesus Christ alone for salvation, as the bible teaches.

That declaration by Pope Benedict XVI helps to prove the plan of salvation in Catholicism is different than in bible preaching circles. The Council of Trent's anathemas on all non-Catholics and the unam sanctam papal decree does the same. Here is our teaching showing that Peter Was Not A Pope.
