(Bible Question/Comment) ...“Christmas” and the whole strange combination of historical paganism and the celebration of the wrong time for Jesus’ birthday is not, I must say, my favorite time of the year! We have decided in our church that we will not treat this season as if it is any different than any other season. My conscience will not let it in the church meetings or Bible studies. All of our people agree with this decision, but it is a very sensitive issue with most people. The way I view Romans 14 on “holy days” is that Paul is talking about the “holy days” that God established, not man-made holidays that mix in Jesus with their pagan celebrations of winter solstice, etc. I cannot accept anything about it anymore. My Bible teaches me that one day is not more holy than another, and I believe that was referring to the Jewish festivals, etc. that God had established. Nowhere is the church told to start up new holidays, and it really bothers me that so many accept it without thinking about whether or not God approves of it! I’m totally convinced that God does not approve of anything having to do with “Christmas”. I can’t even say the word anymore without hearing the word “mass” in it. Did you know that the Catholic church has three “masses” on Christmas Day? Just like three meals? Considering what they mean when they take “mass”, it is three meals! I feel so strongly about this . . . please tell me you feel the same! I know the Lord is disgusted with His people entangling them-selves in such an “unholy mixture” that’s involved in “Christmas.” well, that’s all I’ll say - I didn't even check to see whether you wrote something already about this subject. I’ll check for it. It’s late now. I’ve got to go. It’s a great comfort knowing that you two are “keeping the faith” and “pressing forward” as we are!! (Bible Answer) Greetings in Jesus’ name. YES YES YES we agree with you about Christmas. It is a time when people get drunk and do immoral things more so than other times. Since the world looks forward to Christmas, it is apparently not from God.

The only good thing about Christmas seems to be people are more receptive to receive gospel tracts as we hand salvation literature out. We do this all during the year, but around Christmas people seem more receptive. For that we are thankful. You guys bless us. Keep pressing on. She remains a beacon to the world of true Christianity. Do you live in abject poverty among the poorest of the poor. Do you dress the wounds of the dying?? “ Judge not and ye shall not be Judged” Mother Teresa will definitely be over you in heaven.

(Bible Answer) Greetings in Jesus’ name. How do you know Mother Teresa is a “saint”? Does the Bible say if one ministers to the poorest or sickest he/she will be a “saint”? No, it doesn’t. One must be Biblically saved to be a saint. Mother Teresa was a Catholic nun who believed like a Catholic nun. She did not have the doctrine to be saved, even though she was very helpful and caring to the sick and poor. Remember: to be part of Jesus’ spiritual family we must put into practice God’s word (Lk. 8:21). That includes going directly to Jesus for salvation WITHOUT first going to Mary. It also means TRUSTING IN JESUS 100% FOR SALVATION, which leaves 0% left for Mary, the sacraments, church membership, etc. It is a trusting-submitting and enduring faith in Jesus which will get one into God’s kingdom and saved from hell. I was a member of the catholic church for a little over 20 years and it is only till a few months ago that I realized that I did not know the Jesus of the bible. I have since accepted Jesus as my Lord and Saviour. There are many denominational churches in my area of ___________which have worldly influences. I am not a member of any church and I feel disconnected. As a babe in Christ I have many questions. One question that I have seen pastors in division about is the fourth commandment, Remember the Sabbath to keep it holy. I have read that we are under the new covenant of Jesus. Are we to still honor the Sabbath? When is the correct day of the christian sabbath? How are we to honor it? Is the a list of things to be done? I am not clear on the final word of God on this subject. I would appreciate a clear explanation on this topic so I can put this to rest. I am working out my salvation with fear and trembling to the point were I have reached a state of paranoia of even thinking a single bad thought. I am drained and overwhelmed. You asked about the Saturday Sabbath command. Please read this article so this material won’t have to be retyped. We have a special day set aside for the Lord. Christians usually do that on Sunday, especially since Jesus rose from the grave on Sunday. According to Rom. 14 we have that choice, unlike in Moses’ day.

You will notice there are many things that are hot issues and divisive among professing Christians. Please do NOT get discouraged as the tendency may lead to this. Stay in the New Testament for yourself, ponder God’s word and keep putting God’s word into practice.

PLEASE be guarded. There are MANY false teachers out there like the Jehovah's Christian Witnesses and Mormons. Another serious problem is the eternal security teachers. As you learn the Bible better, and it will come as you draw near to God, you will be able to spot counterfeits more easily.

(Bible Answer) Greetings in Jesus’ name. Even though millions believe in a pre-trib rapture, the Biblical proof is clearly for a POST-trib rapture. There is no way to know the damage the pre-trib rapture teaching has or will cause as things continue to get worse. If you are a Christian, you will NOT get raptured out of here until AFTER the tribulation, if we are of that generation. (The tribulation is not the “wrath” of God.) It was Jesus who shed his blood on the cross for our salvation and rose again from the grave. When a person truly turns from sins and places his trust in Jesus to follow and obey him, such a person will contact his blood spiritually and be set free of his sin addictions. The reason you are addicted to sins is because you are without salvation as you travel down the road to hell.

Also, there is not much fellowship among the congregation as would be expected from born again people. The Sunday School program itself has become corrupted and they teach songs that have tunes similar to worldly songs and also dances for children in addition to teaching stories from Bible. Still, here in _______also some preachers who uphold the Bible are present and leading many people in the truth of the Bible.

(Bible Answer) We never heard of the persecution you mentioned in India until we read your email. Those rioters even went after the Catholics, but why not -- they hate the name Jesus that much to go after anyone who mentions him, even those with a false gospel. May God help all true Christians endure to the end for salvation’s sake (Mt. 10:22), especially as persecution spreads globally and may he also help those misled to come to salvation.

There is NO DOUBT that Calvinism is dangerously wrong. Their view of some being “non-elect” and not having a chance to get saved is both extreme ignorance and a horrible strike against God’s character. There is also NO DOUBT that Jesus is the ONLY way to escape damnation in eternal fire and enter God's paradise kingdom. To teach otherwise might prevent some trouble here, but at the judgment such poison will have to be accounted for.

You are also right about the USA having many false beliefs. This country is loaded with a to z religious beliefs. The worst ones are the ones claiming to present the truth of the Bible, but don’t. These are dark days that will get darker, especially as wickedness increases and the economy continues to get crushed with prices going much higher quickly. Now is a good time to labor for the Lord.
