Now I know it's hard for a lot of Christians to get this, but the blood of Jesus took care of your past sins, your present sins and your future sins (4/21/10 Broadcast, Deliverance from Spiritual death).
(To listen to Creflo Dollar speak those deadly words, click Creflo Dollar Is A False Teacher)
How serious is it for Creflo Dollar to be wrong about forgiven sins? As with others, including Charles Stanley and John MacArthur, the ear-tickling message that a Christian has his future sins already forgiven before they are committed is a snare, and is antithetical to Gods truth:
For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins. (Mat 6:14,15)
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9)
He who conceals his sins does not prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them finds mercy. (Prov 28:13)
At the point of initial salvation, because of repentance, ones sins are forgiven to that point. Note what Peter wrote about this and past sins:
But if anyone does not have them, he is nearsighted and blind, and has forgotten that he has been cleansed from his past sins. (2 Pet 1:9)
Nowhere in Scripture is there even a single verse which states our future sins are automatically forgiven because of getting born again. To believe like that is to therefore disregard the vital necessity of forgiving others who sin against us, confessing and renouncing additional sins as just cited.
Remember: Just because Creflo Dollar is popular doesn't mean he is sound. Like many others Creflo Dollar is NOT teaching the truth about salvation, the most important issue in the entire Bible. He is, therefore, very spiritually dangerous.
What do I have to do in order to get to heaven? I get born again. I make Jesus Lord of my life. And when I make Jesus Lord of my life and I get born again, the blood of Jesus cleanses me from all of my sin. And, and that's what, that's what you do to get to Heaven.
● Creflo Dollar mixes truth with error.
All men will hate you because of me, but he who stands firm to the end will be saved. (Mat 10:22)
We have come to share in Christ if we hold firmly till the end the confidence we had at first. (Heb 3:14)
Do not be afraid of what you are about to suffer. I tell you, the devil will put some of you in prison to test you, and you will suffer persecution for ten days. Be faithful, even to the point of death, and I will give you the crown of life. He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. He who overcomes will not be hurt at all by the second death. (Rev 2:10,11)
Creflo Dollar went on teaching this:
All right, now someone says, Well now Brother Dollar, you need to be perfect to get to Heaven. Haha, if that was the case, ain't none of us going. It's, it's because of what Jesus has done for us that allows us entrance into Heaven.
COMMENT: While the Bible does NOT teach sinless perfection, be assured when heretics like Creflo Dollar say things like he did, he is ignoring the lethal spiritual effects of sin unto death (1 John 5:16,17). He is correct that all who get to heaven will be there because of what Jesus did, but we must make it personal, then HOLD ON to what we have so no man will take our crown, according to Jesus (Rev. 3:11). IF we disown Jesus, he will disown us (Mt. 10:33)!Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God. (Mat 5:8)
Nothing impure will ever enter it, nor will anyone who does what is shameful or deceitful, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb's book of life. (Rev 21:27)
No question, it is what the Lord Jesus has done that gets us to heaven, but that is not the whole message! Teaching about grace, to those who had already been born again, Paul wrote:
To those who by persistence in doing good seek glory, honor and immortality, he will give eternal life. (Rom 2:7)
Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. (Gal 6:7-9)
Other Scriptures show we need a saving faith in Jesus, which OBEYS and endures to the end, for salvation. Jesus stated:
I tell you the truth, if anyone keeps my word, he will never see death. (John 8:51)
Those who have done good will rise to live, and those who have done evil will rise to be condemned. (John 5:29)
On the negative side, a saving faith can cease to exist (Lk. 8:13; 2 Tim. 2:18; 1 Tim. 1:19; Rom. 11:19-23). Many turn away, fall away, go back, etc. You must endure for salvation. Creflo Dollar also taught this:
And so, someone says, Well where does sin come from? I mean you know, do we have a license to sin? Now here's what you understand. Now the reason why God doesn't want us involved in sin is because sin makes cowards of men. And, and, and when, when you sin it attacks your confidence with guilt, condemnation, and now all of a sudden you're not having confidence in that Word, cause your reward's in that confidence. And so what happens is, you've got to understand the things you need to do to have a prosperous, like living, versus what you have to do to have abundant life.
● Sin can do much more than what Creflo Dollar teaches. It can defile and bring a Christian to spiritual death. Jesus himself said only a few at Sardis were still worthy to walk with Jesus and not have their names blotted from the book of life:
Yet you have a few people in Sardis who have not soiled their clothes. They will walk with me, dressed in white, for they are worthy. He who overcomes will, like them, be dressed in white. I will never blot out his name from the book of life, but will acknowledge his name before my Father and his angels. (Rev 3:4,5)
Creflo Dollar is teaching dangerous and empty words. He opposes the Word of God:
For of this you can be sure: No immoral, impure or greedy person—such a man is an idolater—has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things Gods wrath comes on those who are disobedient. Therefore do not be partners with them. (Eph 5:5-7)
Creflo Dollar also said this:
Sin will impact negatively your living. While it may not keep you out of heaven, you know, cause you repent and you got the blood of Jesus, it can stop certain things from operating in your life. Let me give you an example. Walking in unforgiveness and all of a sudden you're not getting your prayers answered.
COMMENTS: Creflo Dollar wrongly thinks the negative side of sin for a Christian is only temporal. To Creflo Dollar and many others, sin can not bring forth spiritual death to the spiritually alive, as happened to Adam and Eve when they sinned. The opposite is the truth. Also, unforgiveness does much more than hinder prayers. It stops sins from being forgiven (Mt. 6:14,15) and even makes one again responsible for his past forgiven sins (Mt. 18:21-35)!
