The day on which this took place was a Sabbath, and so the Jews said to the man who had been healed, "It is the Sabbath; the law forbids you to carry your mat." But he replied, "The man who made me well said to me, 'Pick up your mat and walk.'" (John 5:8-11)The foregoing (above) verse refutes the Seventh Day Adventism insistence that we must keep the Saturday Sabbath - yet another false gospel.
One man considers one day more sacred than another; another man considers every day alike. Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind. He who regards one day as special, does so to the Lord. He who eats meat, eats to the Lord, for he gives thanks to God; and he who abstains, does so to the Lord and gives thanks to God. (Rom 14:5,6)
Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day. (Jer 43:10)Nebuchadnezzar was an idolatrous pagan king, who God was going to use to bring judgment on sinful Jerusalem. **God uses WICKED PEOPLE, at times, as he did there with him - his "servant Nebuchadnezzar".
That truth is good to know to counter Catholicism, when it presents itself as the one and only true Christianity, because they decided the canon of the New Testament (the 27 NT books). Regardless of who decided the canon, God can use even WICKED IDOLATERS, at times, as he did with Nebuchadnezzar, thus nullifying their point.
THE VITAL FOCUS remains on the message of the New Testament itself and not on who decided the canon. Do not allow another to distract you away from scripture itself, which is final authority (2 Tim. 3:16,17).

Was it after he was circumcised, or before? It was not after, but BEFORE! And he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness that he had by faith while he was still uncircumcised. So then, he is the father of all who BELIEVE BUT HAVE NOT BEEN CIRCUMCISED, IN ORDER THAT RIGHTEOUSNESS MIGHT BE CREDITED TO THEM. (Rom 4:9-11)**Abraham had the faith in which he was going to sacrifice his own son (Heb. 11); he reasoned that God could raise the dead.

Catholics also say they have three pillars: Scripture, Tradition, and the Magisterium. According to their tenets, "all are equally important, but 'the Church' understands that not everything was recorded in Scripture and that both Scripture and Tradition need to be viewed through the Magisterium" - so they claim.
Of course, it was the Catholic magisterium itself who teaches that only the Catholic magisterium can correctly understand scripture (CCC 100). FYI: That is a major cultic trait also claimed by the leaders of the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society (Jehovah's Witnesses)!
Without question, the saints do not have to subject themselves to any magisterium, as we have the Holy Spirit to teach us:
As for you, the anointing you received from him remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you.... (1 John 2:27)Finally, until one comes to Christ for salvation, he will continue to have a spiritual veil over his heart, blocking truth:
But their minds were made dull, for to this day the same veil remains when the old covenant is read. It has not been removed, because only in Christ is it taken away. Even to this day when Moses is read, a veil covers their hearts. But whenever anyone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. (2 Cor 3:14-16)

Moreover, his omniscience enables us to identify false prophets, whose predictions fail (Deut.18:20-22), as happened with the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society numerous times.
Surprisingly, there also exists the type of false prophet who accurately predicts an event before it occurs, but who also leads one into false worship (Deut. 13:1-4). The 1917 Fatima predicted 'miracle of the sun' is an example of this phenomenon.

But there were also false prophets among the people, just as THERE WILL BE FALSE TEACHERS AMONG YOU. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them--bringing swift destruction on themselves. Many will follow their shameful ways and will bring the way of truth into disrepute. (2 Pet 2:1,2)** To just sit back and receive what you hear, from those who are supposedly teaching God's word to Christians, is to ENDANGER YOUR SOUL, via their poisonous teachings. You must TEST their teachings with scripture. Since MANY will follow their depraved ways, as a consequence, their DEADLY TEACHINGS are not clearly identified by most. Remember, even the devil can quote scripture.
For if someone comes to you and preaches a Jesus other than the Jesus we preached, or if you receive a different spirit from the one you received, or a different gospel from the one you accepted, you put up with it easily enough. (2 Cor 11:4)
There is another gospel, another Jesus, and another spirit, as well as ravenous wolves in sheep's clothing, who preach such.
To those who by PERSISTENCE IN DOING GOOD seek glory, honor and immortality, he will give ETERNAL LIFE. But for those who are SELF-SEEKING AND WHO REJECT THE TRUTH AND FOLLOW EVIL, there will be WRATH AND ANGER. (Rom 2:7,8)Outside are the dogs, those who practice magic arts, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idolaters and everyone who LOVES AND PRACTICES FALSEHOOD. (Rev 22:15)

Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy. (Mat 5:7)On an aside: when contending for the faith, as commanded in Jude 3,4, at times, the eternal security proponent may respond that mercy triumphs judgment or that we need to be more merciful. They are distorting that verse and the biblical concept of mercy. Mercy is not refraining from "stepping on any toes" by withholding vital, but unpleasant, truths about salvation and the consequences of sin. The one who speaks truth in this dark hour will likely, at times, be accused of lacking love and mercy.

Ponder that fact! More certain than God's audible voice is scripture.
Peter magnified scripture to be the primary focus.
Scripture is also more reliable and trustworthy than someone coming back from the dead to testify (Luke 16:27-31).

Cornelius needed to hear the message Peter brought (Acts 10:34-43). He was not forgiven before he believed on the Lord Jesus (Acts 10:43). See also Acts 11:14.
There is no pre-forgiveness of sins. In other words, your future sins are not forgiven before they are committed.

When he heard this, Jesus said, "This sickness WILL NOT END IN DEATH. No, it is for God's glory so that God's Son may be glorified through it." (John 11:4)Later in the same chapter, we see that Lazarus did die physically; so, it did "end in death" for four days (temporarily), but Jesus raised him from the grave. Hence, his sickness did "NOT END IN DEATH," as Jesus said.

(2) WHY was "Queen" Jezebel ruling with King Ahab, when she was Ahab's wife - not mother?
(3) WHY was Asa's grandmother in a similar exalted position (before she was removed), instead of his mother (1 Kings 15:13)? The Catholic NAB says 'grandmother.'
(4) There is NO CONSISTENT line of Kings ruling with their mothers - none.
(5) MOST IMPORTANTLY, why would you think that such a non-existent earthly pattern from David would magically appear for the mythical Mary of Catholicism in heaven, WITH NO SUPPORT FROM SCRIPTURE?
**Mary has NO throne in heaven (Rev. 4:4). She is not Queen of heaven, except in Catholic mythology. To look to and trust in her is both idolatrous and spiritually lethal. JESUS is our true "hope of Glory" and our life, sweetness and hope.

The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. (2 Cor 10:4)The world continues to fight their wars with "the weapons of the world" (guns, bombs, missiles, etc.), but the unseen forces, influencing them, are spiritual.
For us Christians, the dark enemy forces of Satan must be opposed spiritually (prayer, praise and faith in God) to "fight the good fight." See Eph. 6:11-19.

The answer to their faulty reasoning is: this life isn't all there is. God WILL do something about evil one day in the future, and he will end this evil system, though now evil continues on.

The Holy Spirit (or Comforter) is especially referred to in the NT, and he is linked to one's salvation (Titus 3:5; Jn. 16:7-11; etc.). The Holy Spirit is a person (for he teaches and guides), and he was lied to and called "God" (Acts 5:3,4) and "Lord" (2 Cor. 3:17,18).
