Many deceivers, who do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh, have gone out into the world. Any such person is the deceiver and the antichrist. (2 John 1:7)
On an aside, 1 John 2:19, has been misused by many eternal security proponents for their "never-saved-to-begin-with" argument when they are backed into a corner about OSAS being a license for immorality.

Those who live according to the sinful nature have their minds set on what that nature desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. (Rom 8:5)
If they had been thinking of the country they had left, they would have had opportunity to return. Instead, they were longing for a better country - a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared a city for them. (Heb 11:15,16)

When Jesus reached the spot, he looked up and said to him, "Zacchaeus, come down immediately. I must stay at your house today." So he came down at once and welcomed him gladly. All the people saw this and began to mutter, "He has gone to be the guest of a 'sinner.'" But Zacchaeus stood up and said to the Lord, "Look, Lord! Here and now I give half of my possessions to the poor, and if I have cheated anybody out of anything, I will pay back four times the amount." Jesus said to him, "TODAY SALVATION HAS COME TO THIS HOUSE, because this man, too, is a son of Abraham. For the Son of Man came to seek and to save what was lost." (Luke 19:5-10)
2. He was saved immediately without baptism OR communion OR Mary.
3. Before Jesus pronounced Zacchaeus saved, his heart changed about money, and he wanted to make right what he did in the past. In other words, Zacchaeus repented. Again, Jesus pronounced he was saved AFTER there was evidence of his repentance.

He writes the same way in all his letters, speaking in them of these matters. His letters contain some things that are hard to understand, which ignorant and unstable people distort, as they do the other Scriptures, to their own DESTRUCTION. (2 Pet 3:16)The next verse shows that danger of being deceived by such false teachers applies to the saints:
Therefore, dear friends, since you already know this, be on your guard so that you may not be carried away by the error of lawless men and FALL FROM YOUR SECURE POSITION. (2 Pet 3:17)There is salvation assurance; it just is not the false security-in-sin assurance claimed by the false teachers.

As we have already said, so now I say again: If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let them be under God's curse [anathema]! (Gal. 1:9)_____________________________ _____

(Acts 17:26,27)**Regardless where we live, we can "reach out for God" and find him, IF we so desire. We all have been given the outward witness of CREATION and the inward witness of CONSCIENCE. If we act on those lesser lights, God will send, somehow, the message about the Lord Jesus to us as he did with Cornelius (Acts 10) and the Ethiopian Eunuch (Acts 8).

And the scripture was fulfilled that says, "Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness," and he was called God's friend. You see that a person is justified by what he does and not by faith alone. (James 2:23,24)Some wrongly focus on James 2:24 to the exclusion of v.23, which gives vital details. James stated, just like Paul, that Abraham was justified by faith (James 2:23 cf. Rom. 4:3).

(Rev 19:1-6)** Again, it seems the righteous in heaven know what is happening down here, for they praised God for judging the "great prostitute". (Do YOU sometimes "shout Hallelujah" in praise, as they do in heaven?)

(Num 14:21-24)* Faithfulness, even when others are not, is the key. Caleb was greatly outnumbered, yet remained faithful and would get his unique reward. Caleb was an example of one who did NOT treat God with contempt because he faced, BY FAITH IN GOD, the giants in the land and battled them.
Ponder the following passage, which is frequently misused by the eternal security proponents. 2 Chronicles 15:2 clarifies the latter part of 2 Timothy 2:13.
If we died with him, we will also live with him; if we endure, we will also reign with him. If we disown him, he will also disown us; if we are faithless, he remains faithful, FOR HE CANNOT DISOWN HIMSELF. (2 Tim. 2:11-13)God remains faithful to his word. IF he didn't he would be disowning himself. The kindness and sternness of God (Rom. 11:22) is an eternal unchangeable fact about God. That should make us both rejoice, but also tremble in holy fear.
The LORD is with you when you are with him. If you seek him, he will be found by you, but if you forsake him, he will forsake you. (2 Chron. 15:2)

Jesus sent Peter and John, saying, "Go and make preparations for us to eat the Passover." (Luke 22:8)That fact might not seem like much, but it could help some Catholics realize that Jesus speaks such things at times, intending his message to be for a limited audience at a limited time. Another such example is the next verse where Jesus directed the following statement ONLY to John at that moment in time:
and to the disciple, "Here is your mother." From that time on, this disciple took her into his home. (John 19:27)John was to take care of Mary, at that point, as his own biological mother. It is assumed that Joseph was dead. Also, at that point, Mary's other children were unbelievers (Jn. 7:5).
John 19:27 is not proof that Mary is the 'mother of the church,' as Catholics were taught. "Our mother" is shown here:
But the Jerusalem that is above is free, and she is our mother. (Gal 4:26)

The problem surfaces in the NT when the same KJV term "slew" is used regarding Jesus.
The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom YE SLEW AND HANGED ON A TREE. (Acts 5:30, KJV)
And we are witnesses of all things which he did both in the land of the Jews, and in Jerusalem; whom they SLEW AND HANGED ON A TREE: (Acts 10:39, KJV)The KJV has readers wrongly thinking Jesus was "slew" before he was nailed to the cross. **Most understand that archaic term to mean, as cited with Goliath, that he was KILLED. Again, that rendering would make Jesus a dead man before he was nailed to the cross - yet another bad choice of words used by the KJV.
** BTW, EVERY other time "slew" is used in the KJV NT, it refers to being killed or to death (Mat 2:16; 21:39; 22:6; 23:35; Luke 13:4; Acts 22:20; Rom 7:11 and 1 John 3:12).

Catholicism also states their Mary shares SINLESSNESS with the Lord Jesus. That exaltation is robbing Jesus of his unique glory, in addition to giving Mary an attribute that belongs to God only (all-holy, Rev. 4:8, etc.):

But THE CHIEF PRIESTS STIRRED UP THE CROWD TO HAVE PILATE RELEASE BARABBAS INSTEAD. "What shall I do, then, with the one you call the king of the Jews?" Pilate asked them. "CRUCIFY HIM!" they shouted. "Why? What crime has he committed?" asked Pilate. But they shouted all the louder, "Crucify him!" Wanting to satisfy the crowd, Pilate released Barabbas to them. For you, brothers, became imitators of God's churches in Judea, which are in Christ Jesus: You suffered from your own countrymen the same things those churches suffered from THE JEWS, WHO KILLED THE LORD JESUS AND THE PROPHETS AND ALSO DROVE US OUT. THEY DISPLEASE GOD and are hostile to all men in their effort to keep us from speaking to the Gentiles so that they may be saved. In this way they always heap up their sins to the limit. The wrath of God has come upon them at last. (1 Th 2:14-16)

2. Under "grace", serious godly EFFORT was exerted to "fight the good fight." The Greek term used for "fought" is where we get our word AGONY from!
3. He also stated he that he "finished the race". Not only is the whole Christian life likened to a long distance "race", but Paul also wanted Timothy (his spiritual son) to know that, even under his horrible present conditions - just before execution, that he was still fighting the good fight (unlike Demas, 4:10) and in a practical sense he had finished his race for his execution was close.
4. "I have kept the faith" shows Christian responsibility under grace. It is your moment to moment decisions along your "race" that are so important, and you must finish the race and keep the faith to the end in order to enter Paradise (Mt. 10:22; Heb. 3:14; Rev. 2:10,11).

The wound in his side, where the Roman soldier rammed his spear into him, must have been massive, and that scar was still apparent on his body, enabling Thomas to put his hand into it! Imagine seeing Jesus with all those scars!

2. The spiritual father of those Jews was the devil - not God, though they claimed God was their father. (The reality of their own spiritual condition was the OPPOSITE of what they thought.)
3. The PROOF that God is one's spiritual father is to LOVE JESUS (which means to OBEY Jesus).
4. Jesus' "language", that is, the spiritual meaning was "not clear" - not understandable to those unbelievers. See also 2 Cor. 3:14-16.
5. Their desires were the same as their father's, the devil, - to murder and lie.
6. Those same Jews didn't believe because Jesus spoke the truth! See Jn. 18:37.
7. One must "belong to God" in order to hear (understand) what God says; those, who don't belong to God, cannot understand.
Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires. (Gal 5:24)
