And as her soul was departing (for she was dying), she called his name Ben-oni; but his father called him Benjamin (Gen. 35:18, ESV).Where one's spirit and soul go after they depart from the body depends on his spiritual condition at that point, that is, if he is righteous or unrighteous in God's sight. In other words, one must die with a pure heart to see God and to go home to be with the Lord (Mt. 5:8; 2 Cor. 5:8).
On the other hand, if a person dies in an unrighteous condition he will immediately go into fiery torment (Lk. 16:23,28; Jude 7; Rev. 14:11; Psa. 11:6; Mt. 13:41,42; 25:30; etc.). There is no soul sleep, as the Jehovah's Witnesses and Seven Day Adventist wrongly teach. That same lost soul who died in his sins will remain in that horrible place with other wicked people until their resurrection, then to be shown their names are not found in the book of life to be thrown into the lake of fire (Rev. 20:11-15). The lake of fire will be their final abode in eternal fiery torment with no annihilation (Rev. 19:20 cf. 20:10; Mt. 25:46; Jude 7; etc.).
Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him. (James 1:12)Your decision to repent and follow the Lord Jesus Christ till death, or not, will determine where you will spend eternity, thereby reflecting how vitally important salvation is. Again, that single issue is the pivotal issue of your whole eternity! So, what will you do with the only Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ? Real success is entering God's kingdom after death, made possible only by the one and only way to get there -- a trusting, submitting and enduring faith in the Lord Jesus Christ (Jn. 14:6; 10:9; Acts 4:12; 1 Tim. 2:5; etc.), the Passover lamb of God (1 Cor. 5:7; Rev. 5:12; etc.). If you disown him, he'll disown you (Mt. 10:33).
The holy place prepared by God for the righteous followers of Jesus Christ is:
It is shown to be the dwelling of God (Rev. 21:3) and only for the overcomers (Rev. 3:21; 21:1-7; etc.) with many mansions there (Jn. 14:2). It is gain and better by far for those living for Christ (Phil. 1:21,23). Hallelujah!
If you are a backslider, God wants YOU back (James 5:19,20; Rom. 11:19-23). Repent as the prodigal did, who returned to salvation (Lk. 15:24). If there is any doubt if you are pure or not in God's sight now, humbly and sincerely cry out to God from your heart for his mercy and forgiveness. From the depths of your heart, turn from your sins and commit yourself to the Lord Jesus. Don't delay. You could die at any time. Draw near to God and he'll draw near to you.
The length of our days is seventy years-- or eighty, if we have the strength; yet their span is but trouble and sorrow, for they quickly pass, and we FLY AWAY (Psa. 90:10)
