The Truth About The Whole Counsel Of God
What is the whole counsel of God? Why do so few know the full counsel of God? How is it possible for false doctrine to run so rampant in a day with so many Bibles within easy reach? At present, the
whole counsel of God, for the most part, remains concealed. How could the
whole counsel of God remain hidden to so many church people? In part, it is because false teachers are convincingly presenting a partial truth as the whole truth and distorting its intended meaning. This has often been done by the
eternal security teachers, who flood
TV, radio and literature with their counterfeit version of grace and the
gospel.
The following list of supplementary truths will help the Christian combat this sinister version of the whole counsel of God. The grace changers and their sin-gospel have done incalculable harm, as the holy image of a Christian has been trashed by declaring that NO sin (or anything else) will ever keep one out of the Kingdom of Heaven if he was ever saved at any point. Now there are multitudes thinking there are two types of adulterers, two types of drunks, etc., with one type being a Christian on the road to heaven in his wickedness. Dave Hunt and Charles Stanley teach like that with their carnal Christian doctrine and are far from being alone! Joseph Prince is another prime example of a dangerous grace changer.
The Biblical Whole Counsel of God
The following listing elaborates on the
whole counsel of God and should help with this disturbing
religious deception. The first half of the following statements are readily known, while the second half are hardly recognized by many as being found in the Scriptures!
Please freely copy this important list and spread it to all of your Christian friends and family.
We are saved by grace (Eph. 2:8,9), but we can fall from grace (Gal. 5:2-4).
We are justified by faith (Rom. 5:1), but our faith can cease to exist (Luke 8:13; Rom. 11:19-23) and become shipwrecked (1 Tim. 1:19,20).
We are not under the law (Rom. 6:14,15), but if you live according to the sinful nature you will die (Rom. 8:13). NOTE: Spiritual death WILL occur if a righteous man turns to evil.
Paul taught against legalism (Gal. 5:3,4), but among others things he taught:
But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for God's holy people. Nor should there be obscenity, foolish talk or coarse joking, which are out of place, but rather thanksgiving. For of this you can be sure: No immoral, impure or greedy person - such a man is an idolater - has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things God's wrath comes on those who are disobedient. Therefore do not be partners with them (Eph. 5:3-6).
We are not saved by works (Eph. 2:8,9),
but to reap eternal life and not destruction, you must sow to please the Spirit and not the sinful nature (Gal. 6:8,9).
God is faithful to us (1 John 1:9; 1 Cor. 10:13), but we must be faithful to him to the very end of our lives to escape the lake of fire, or second death (Rev. 2:10,11).
God surely loves us (John 3:16; Mk. 10:21; Rom. 8:35-39), but those who inherit the kingdom of God love God (James 2:5 cf. 1 Cor. 2:9). And to love God means to obey his commandments (Jn. 14:15; 1 John 5:3).
We have freedom in Christ (Gal. 5:1), but this freedom is not to indulge the sinful nature (Gal. 5:13; 1 Pet. 2:16).
Please know that a false teacher or false prophet is described by Jesus as a ferocious wolf in sheep's clothing (Mt. 7:15). They can appear to be righteous, but be filled with hypocrisy and wickedness (Mt. 23:28). God sees certain teachers as servants of Satan, who masquerade around as servants of righteousness (2 Cor. 11:14,15). To follow such blind leaders will mean that you will fall into a pit with them (Mt. 15:14). It is very important that you believe not every spirit, but test them to see if they are from God (1 John 4:1). This is done by comparing the message of the Bible to their teaching. Many people make the fatal mistake in thinking that if a person has a large following or is friendly and popular he is sound in his teaching, but this is not true. To be sound, his teaching must be Biblical. To stress only a partial truth, with a distorted interpretation, as eternal security teachers do, is to mislead multitudes down the primrose path to destruction. Be assured they are not declaring the whole counsel of God.
Whole Counsel of God Summary
- The Bible is final authority for the Christian (2 Tim. 3:16,17).
- The whole message of the whole counsel of God needs to sought out. The subject of the believer's security is no exception.
- The aforementioned eternal truths about the whole counsel of God are not heresy, legalism, a works salvation, etc., as some will falsely accuse. If they are, then the Lord and His apostles were also guilty of the same, for these truths originated with them.
- False teachers will be here to the very end deceiving many (2 Pet. 2:1,2).
- To enter the kingdom of God Christians must endure hatred and persecution to the very end of their lives (Mt. 10:22; Heb. 3:14; Rev. 2:10,11); live holy (Rom. 6:22; Heb. 12:14); bring forth good fruit (Mt. 7:19); and do good (John 5:29), according to New Testament grace. May Almighty God help us all in these perilous days. Remember, what is commonly taught as the whole counsel of God is not accurate, but actually dangerous as it caters to the flesh.
